2. What do these questions tell you about the AP exam? What do you need to "see" when you read a passage?
When I took the AP English Language test last year I was frightened by how many questions there was on literary terms. I did not know many and the few ones I knew were not ones I had mastered. These questions tell me that I will have to quickly analyze the tone diction of what I am reading. I do not really have to know the content I just have to understand how it is being presented. When I read a passage I need to be able to see and identify the tone, a comparison and/or transition.
c) Explain what the questions tell you about the skills/content you need to master for the AP exam.
These questions tell me that I am going to have to work on being able to identify literary terms in the content given to me. I am going to have to be able to know the Literary terms very well in order to answer the questions quickly and correct. I also need to focus as I am reading so I will not have to spend time re-reading the passage over and over.
Thanks for sharing this-- very helpful!
